THE MESH-TO-CAD WORKBENCH
From mesh
to modifiable.
Turn your STL into a part you can change. Inspect it for free, understand your options, and request a mechanical rebuild with the modification you need.
○ Browser-based inspection ○ Your STL stays on your device
A FILE FORMAT IS ONLY THE START
What do you need
your part to do next?
A STEP export may be enough for a one-off cut or inspection. Repeated changes to hole sizes, wall thickness, or mounting positions can call for a new model built around those dimensions.
MeshRebuild helps you choose the useful next step: inspect, convert, or request a rebuild. You can learn the workflow before spending money.
Understand STEP vs. editable CAD →FREE TOOL / NO ACCOUNT
Know your mesh
before you move it.
Open a binary or ASCII STL, rotate the preview, check its dimensions, and download an inspection report. Processing happens in your browser.
Open STL checker & viewer ↗Inspection only. CAD conversion and design work are separate.
MECHANICAL PART REBUILDS
Small parts.
Specific changes.
A bracket that needs larger holes. An adapter that needs a new diameter. An enclosure that needs a different opening. Start with a clear brief and an agreed output.
DEFINE THE HANDOVER
- 01Your requested modification
Dimensions and scope agreed before modelling.
- 02A new native CAD model
The supported format is confirmed for your workflow.
- 03STEP + printable STL
Exports checked against the agreed requirements.
A CLEAR PATH FORWARD
Inspect. Define. Rebuild.
Inspect the starting point
Open your STL in the free checker. Review size, triangle count, and available edge diagnostics before deciding what to do next.
Define one useful change
Tell us what needs to change, the measurements that matter, and which CAD application you use.
Agree the project
Feasibility, deliverables, price, and timing are confirmed before work starts. Your inquiry is not a paid order.
Receive a model you can work with
For an agreed rebuild, the handover includes the selected native CAD format, STEP, STL, and checks tied to your requested edit.

A few useful answers.
Is the free tool an STL-to-STEP converter?
No. It previews and inspects STL files. The guides explain conversion workflows; the service accepts inquiries for an agreed CAD rebuild and modification.
Can a converted STEP file still be edited?
Yes. CAD applications can edit STEP geometry. A new native model can also contain sketches and dimension controls for repeated changes. The right approach depends on the edit you need.
Do my STL files leave my browser?
The free inspection tool processes files on your device. The project inquiry form sends the information you type, but it does not upload your STL.
How much does a rebuild cost?
A price is quoted after the part and requested changes are reviewed. Complexity, accuracy, native format, and the required handover affect the quote. No payment is collected by this site.
